What drives the cost
Plan choice comes down to how much work your market needs, not how big your business looks.
- Competition. A GTA trade fighting for map results usually needs more ongoing work than one in a smaller Eastern or Northern Ontario town. See the areas hub for how regions differ.
- Number of services. Marketing one main service is simpler than marketing six.
- Number of channels. A Google profile plus a website costs less to run than profile, site, ads and content together.
- Starting point. A business with a sound website and an owned Google profile starts further ahead than one that needs to recover accounts from a previous agency.
Ad spend is always separate. It leaves your own ad account and goes to Google or Meta, never through our books.
A note on annual billing
Annual billing saves 25% on Growth and Elite, and about the same on Enterprise, in exchange for a twelve-month commitment. For a trade with a proven plan, it's often worth it. For a trade testing marketing for the first time, monthly terms are the safer start: run one full busy season on monthly terms, check the results against your numbers, and switch only once you're confident.
How to choose a plan
Work it out from your numbers. Here's an illustration you can adapt.
Say your average job is worth $2,500 and your gross margin is 40%, so each job contributes $1,000. On the Growth plan at $1,999 a month, you'd need about two extra jobs a month to cover the fee, before ad spend. If ads add $1,500 a month and a paid lead costs $100 at a one-in-three close rate, those ads produce about five jobs. Five jobs at $1,000 contribution is $5,000 against $3,499 in combined cost.
If the sum only works with optimistic assumptions, start smaller, or start with something you can do yourself from our guides. The budget worksheet walks through this step by step.
Common questions about cost
Are there one-time costs? Any one-time cost, such as a new website outside your plan, is confirmed in writing before you commit, so nothing arrives on an invoice unannounced.
Can I start with one service? Yes. Many Ontario trades start with a Google profile and local SEO clean-up or a follow-up routine, then expand once that's paying for itself.
What if it doesn't work? You can leave with 30 days' notice, and you keep your website, domain, Google profile and ad accounts. We'd rather lose a client than keep one on a plan that isn't paying off.
What you get on every plan
Every plan includes written scope, monthly reporting in plain language (calls, texts, emails and jobs where you share them), and full ownership of your accounts. You'll deal with a senior strategist, not a rotating junior team. To talk about which plan fits, see the contact page, or read the FAQ for more on contracts and ownership.
Frequently asked questions
Is ad spend included in the plan price?
No. Your ad budget is charged by the platform to the card on your own ad account. The plan fee covers our planning, management and reporting.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Plans run month to month with 30 days' notice to cancel. Annual billing lowers the monthly price in exchange for a year's commitment.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Eligible trades businesses get a first 30-minute conversation at no charge, and it sits outside any paid plan. Nothing is owed afterwards.
Do prices include HST?
No. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and Ontario trades add 13% HST.
Where can I see full plan details?
The complete, current plan list is on the Trades.Agency pricing page. If anything there differs from this page, the Trades.Agency page is the one to go by.
